Scholarship Info
We, K-Scholarship, are an independent, owner managed, non-profit company, founded in 2019 based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We offer students a range of financial assistance.
1. Scholarship Types
K-Scholarships will cover the following:
- High School Students
- College / University Students
*Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time program in South Africa during the scholarship application year.
*Applicants must be not less than 60% of a cumulative GPA in the previous scholarship year.
2. Qualifications
K-Scholarships are offered to students who meet the following criteria, in order of preference:
- Direct Descendants of SA Veterans who served in the Korean War (KWV);
- Students of Korean Nationality (SK);
- Students with Disabilities (SD); Gauteng Province.
- Special Qualification (SQ); Extracurricular Activities.
*All scholarship will be paid directly to the school account according to the school bill.
*K-Scholarships range max at R100,000.00 per student per year.
3. Evaluation Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Financial Need
- Scholastic/Extracurricular Achievement
- Recommendations: SA Korean War Veteran Association, or South Africa Korean Association and/or Korean Embassy in SA, SASSA, etc.
- Essay of Applicant
4. Donations
- Chair Scholarship: Donors can use his own name (Over R300 000)
- Designated Scholarship: Donors can designate a field for a given year (Over R30 000)
- General Contribution (any amount)
